Did you know that dams are being removed along Indian Creek in southern Indiana to restore the habitat of North America’s largest salamander, the hellbender? Biologist Jerry Sweeten will explain these dam removal efforts at this year’s 2019 IFA Member Meeting and connect forest preservation to river restoration in Indiana.
Then … enjoy a pitch-in meal, live music, and a campfire. Stay the night and camp out under the stars or sleep in an old renovated church. If you don’t want to return home, Bloomington and McCormick’s Creek State Park are not far.
If you’re a member of IFA, that is, you’ve donated $25 or more in the past year, then please join us in Owen County on October 19. We’ll take IFA’s pulse, decide our agenda for next year, elect new board members, and enjoy a beautiful fall day of camaraderie in the woods under a colorful fall canopy.
